Osteopathy • Kinesiology
Hi! I'm Arissa Martin!
As a passionate advocate for holistic health and wellness, Arissa has a unique approach as a Registered Kinesiologist and Osteopathic Manual Practitioner. With a commitment to helping individuals achieve optimal physical function and well-being, Arissa combines years of physical rehabilitation knowledge with hands-on therapeutic techniques to aid clients on their journey to wellness.
Arissa obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary in 2017, laying the foundation for her understanding of human movement, biomechanics, and exercise physiology. Her experience working with the national alpine ski and luge teams greatly added to her coaching background. Arissa’s dedication to ongoing learning led her to pursue further training in Osteopathic Manual Therapy, where she gained comprehensive knowledge of the body's interconnected systems and the principles of osteopathy. In early 2024 she received her Diploma of Osteopathic Manual practice designation, and is excited to add Osteopathic treatment to her offerings.
With a holistic approach to health, Arissa focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of discomfort, dysfunction, and pain. Through personalized treatment plans, which may include manual therapy techniques, corrective exercises, and home care recommendations, Arissa strives to help clients return to activities that keep their minds and bodies happy, healthy, and moving with confidence.
Outside of work, you can find Arissa biking, enjoying seawall views, or tending to her plants.
my approach
Manual Therapy + Movement Training
Incorporating kinesiology and osteopathy, sessions can utilize both manual therapy techniques (such as soft tissue release, joint mobilization and cranial sacral work) alongside a movement screen, and prescription of corrective exercises to help build strength
what you can expect
My approach focuses on:
1. Education. My goal is to educate you on how the body moves, how dysfunctions are showing up in your body and and how we can build strength and incorporate movement to help alleviate these.
2. Individualized treatment plans. Each session and exercise program if prescribed, is completely unique to you, to fit your goals, body and injuries.
